ANTIPAROS LOCAL EVENTS

Antiparos honours the saints of the island with many festivals every year. The visitors of the island can enjoy traditional music and the resurgence of the island’s culture.

One of the most traditional festivals is the celebration of Ai Yiannis Spiliotis which take place in the entry of the cavern with traditional dances and local dishes.

In June the traditional custom of Klidonas revives in the island. The cultural association of Antiparos performs dancing groups in the harbour of the island.
One big three-day festival in the harbour of island is organised in July to the honour of Agia Marina. The residents perform traditional dances and offer treats to all visitors.

On the 7th of September in the small church of Panagia Faneromeni a festival is organized for her celebration. Only small fish boats can transfer you to the back side of the island to attend to the celebration. The location is one of the most graphic parts of the island.
