DONOUSA LOCAL EVENTS

One of the oldest customs in Donoussa is “the treasure hunt”. All residents and visitors of the island join forces for the finding of the pirate’s treasure and wander around discovering the beauties and the monuments of the island.
The Innkeepers’ Festival is organized in July with exhibits of photography and folk art, so that the visitors can discover the island’s history.

On the 15th of August the feast of the Assumption of the Virgin attracts all visitors with live traditional music, dances and local dishes such as (patatato).
The feast of Agia Sofia takes place on 19th of September around the church of Agia Sofia in the area of Mersini for the honour of the saint.
