Ios, as well as the rest of Cyclades, honours her Saints with festivals and celebrations during the whole year. Some of the most popular feasts of the island are the celebration of Agios Ioannis Prodromos in the monastery of Pyrgos and the celebration of Agios Ioannis in the areas of Psathi and Kalamos.
In the area of Palaiokastro, the island celebrates the Birth of Virgin Mary and in the 15th of August the festival of Panagia Gkremiotissa takes place in Chora. 

Also, the festival of Mersinia to the honour of Virgin Mary, the festival of Agios Nikolaos in Koumparas and the festival of Agios Georgios in the area of Boyrlidakia.

The Homereia is a program of cultural events in the honour of Homer organized under the aegis of UNESCO every May.
