IRAKLEIA LOCAL EVENTS

The island of Irakleia organizes several festivals each year. At the 15th of August there is the feast of Panagia in the forecourt of Panagia church. Big celebrations are organised for the honour of the saints Agios Georgios, Archangels Michael and Gabriel and Agios Nektarios.

One of the biggest events on the 28th of August is the celebration of Agios Prodromos. On the eve of the celebration there is a Vespers in the cave gathering a lot of people.  

Also, throughout the summer, the local administration and the Union of Irakleiotes in Athens organize various cultural events, including theatrical performances and concerts.
