SYROS BEACHES

Syros island has been dowered with the most beautiful beaches of Cyclades. Most of the popular beaches of the island are located south-eastern of the island. The island allocates organised beaches, with the ability of water sports, taverns and bars.

The beaches are mostly sandy with pebbles and natural shades.  Galissas, Agathopes, Megas Yialos, Dellagrazia, Azolimnos and Foinikas, with the equipped marina are from the most organised beaches of island.

Armeos or Ayia Pakou, secluded off the left cove at Galissas beneath Ayia Pakou hill is a pole of attraction of many nudists each year.

In Ermoupoli, there are pebble beaches at Ayios Nikolaos off the Vaporia quarter and at Taliro, Vangelidi, and Kymata.

Megali Aggali, is a deserted beach in the islet of Gaidouri (or Fanari) located on the opposite side of Ermoupoli and is accessible by boat.

On the western coast of Syros the beach Delfini is located; a beautiful sandy beach with taverns and bars.

In the southern side of Syros, you can swim in Ampela and Lotos a small sheltered bay with shaded sand beach next to the Lotos village, about 1 km south of Kini.

You can enjoy swimming in Achladi and Kini which is one of the most graphic beaches of the island with unique sunset.

Kokkina is a small sheltered sand and pebble beach on the south-western coast near Foinikas.

The island allocates small and peaceful beaches for those who prefer quit swimming. On the southern side of the island you will find Santorinioi and Fabrika; small sandy beaches with pebbles.

You can also swim in Fokiotrypes a remote rocky beach accessible by footpath (15 mins) from Azolimnos a small sheltered and shaded sand and pebble beach.

The beaches Varvaroussa, Aetos, Leia, Grammata, Megas Lakos, Marmari and Avlaki are located in the north-western part of the island; they are accessible only by boat or guided hiking from Apano Meria.
